Lance Christensen, CPA, Partner,
Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP

Lance is a partner serving in the Tax Department. He brings outstanding credentials to MWE as an experienced Tax Partner with strong business and professional relationships. Over the course of his career he has developed an extensive business and tax background in a broad range of industries and subjects.

Lance’s experience extends to both public and privately held companies which he serves with respect to a wide range of tax planning, compliance and consulting matters. His expertise also encompasses the management of foreign and domestic mergers and acquisition tax projects; large and small case tax audits; transfer pricing; state, local and international taxation; pass-through entities; and personal income and estate tax planning on behalf of high net worth families.

A well-recognized expert in various taxation matters, he is a frequent speaker on timely tax-related topics.

Lance received his Bachelors in Accounting from C.W. Post University (Greenvale, NY) and his Masters in Taxation from Pace University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.



Joseph A. Pizzimenti, Esq, Director State & Local Tax,
Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP

Joe heads the firm’s State and Local Tax Services practice. In this role, Joe focuses on providing multistate tax consulting and planning services to the firm’s clients.

Joe’s expertise in rendering multistate income and sales tax consulting and compliance services addresses complex state corporate income tax matters; including nexus, appropriate filing methodology, state taxable income determination and revenue sourcing issues. Joe has extensive experience in providing multistate tax advisory services with respect to mergers and acquisitions, FAS 109 and FIN 48/ASC 740. He devotes significant time in the areas of income/franchise and sales/use tax controversy representation for corporate and non-corporate clients. Joe has extensive sub-specialty knowledge with respect to sales and use tax issues affecting the e-commerce and consumer product industries.

Prior to joining the firm, Joe was the multistate tax coordinator for Deloitte Growth Emerging Service (“DGES”) in the Tri-State area. As a member of the DGES leadership committee, Joe spearheaded the delivery of multistate tax services to Deloitte’s middle market hi-tech, retail and multinational clients in the tri-state area. Prior to joining Deloitte, Joe was a senior manager in an international tax group at a big four accounting firm. In his role as primary tax advisor, Joe provided complex Federal and International tax services to high profile Asian and European multinational clients. These services included drafting the firm’s very first advanced pricing agreement with the Internal Revenue Service as well as federal controversy assistance and tax compliance services. As a result of this experience, Joe developed a comprehensive understanding of Subchapter C, In-bound and Out-bound tax issues.

Joe is admitted to the Bar in the State of New York and is a member of the New York State Bar and American Bar Associations. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Pace University and a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University.

James is an Accounting and Finance professional with over 35 years of experience in the areas of Accounting, Audit (internal and external), Budgeting and Financial Reporting. Industry specializations include Life Insurance, multi-location manufacturing and distribution in the food industry as well as national sales companies. Companies he has worked for include General Reinsurance, Deloitte, Legal & General, Best Foods, George Weston Bakeries, and Canon USA, Inc. James has been a CPA in New York State since 1991 and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Accountants, Long Island Chapter (since July 2011) and has been a long standing member of the AICPA, NYS Society of CPA’s and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). James currently serves as the President of the LI Chapter of the IMA.
